"My goal is to make as many people aware of the potential benefits and to claim all of the refunds they have coming to them. My objective is to help empower low income people. Just think about it. A five thousand dollar refund in low-income families hands, will go out in the community and help in many different areas. If some of them squander that- shame on them. But if some of these folks can take some of that money and start changing their mentalities, or empower them to save a little, get on that road, maybe we've done something to help change some minds. We want to promote that because the more money into the economy, the better for everybody." --Volunteers organized by the Resource Center, including CARLOS CISNEROS and Norma Taylor make their way home to home on Bennett Ave. in Flint on Martin Luther King Day of Service, spreading the word about free income tax preparation available for low income families and individuals.
